The intimate area is one of the most sensitive regions of the body. The skin here is thinner, more delicate, and more pH-sensitive than the skin on the rest of the body. This means that conventional body care products — which are formulated for the skin’s general pH of 4.5–5.5 — are not appropriate for intimate use.
Intimate care products must be specifically formulated to respect the natural pH balance of the intimate area, which is slightly more acidic — typically between 3.8 and 4.5. Disrupting this balance can lead to irritation, discomfort, and imbalance.
